So i bought this knife a couple years ago from a surplus shop in toronto. I was looking for a small kabar one size smaller then the one i used to have. I was in the market for a knife that would last for years and take a beating. The man behind the counter said no kabars but cold steel…..they make very strong knifes and thats why they carry them. They didn’t have much to choose from. So for 30 bucks (i think thats what i paid for it) cnd this is what i got.

cold steel knives
The only thing that really pissed me off was the plastic sheef. I don’t know one decent knife maker that sells knifes with plastic sheefs. Although the 2nd LT that runs the surplus shop keept telling me, its a good knife so i took his word for it. I’m trying something new. Up untill now this knife stayed in my backpack, I never really used it for much. Today i decided I’m going to beat the living piss out of this knife and see what “cold steel” knives are really made of. And i hope i don’t regret not going to canadian tire and buying the ol trustworthy “Buck Knife” or “karbar”
cheers

This sign so close to work means good things! For starters we can camp here for up to 21 days. Few spots for rvs to pull in. Aslo lots of little places for tents if need be.
<
neet lil cooking stove someone made. I was told by a guy i work with, someone left a camper bus here all summer and no one cared. Nice lil sandy beach on the shore line too. we'll see what happens!!!!!! sweet spot….ten min walk to work (the resort) i love boondockin….to bad the MNR or the goverment…gues their the same thing, anyways its to bad they don’t have a map of locations where people can camp or park for free. IF i get a gps unit i’ll have to start marking good spots for other people interested in boondocking in ontario.

Well spring is around the corner and YES were back into the swing of things looking for another RV. I seem to be more interested in class A’s and my (soon to be wife) likes class C’s. Only because of the bunk over the cab! not that we’ll be using it but for the cat having a place to get away from the dog, And a good place for the litter box. Our dog cleans it for us if its not out of reach. Here is two links for two that i’m looking at and thats in our budget (not that we have one). were still broke

Life is so up and down these days and with not knowing if we’ll have jobs tomorrow pisses us off cause we hate moving. ok well we hate packing. Its so much easyer to drive away with out all the labour intensive crap that goes with moving. SO if we stay under 6 grand it’ll be paid for before the baby comes and we’ll be able to start looking for an appt before the colder weather comes. And no mater what life throws are way we’ll know we’ll always have a home.
Were living in this run down outdated shit hole of an appartment…….and i hate paying for it knowing i’m wasting my money. Throwing it away enver to be seen again. Rather be paying off an RV. So YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!!!!! yes if you know of an clean safe camper please let me know.
cheers!!

So I’ve been North of Northbay for two weeks. New job, new apartment next week, my future wife is pregnent which is awsome news. It took a couple hours for the shock to wear off that i’m not buying a snowmobile this year lol but i’m really excited. I’m going to be a dady. And i have a dream job. Maintence worker, fishing guid…..jack of all trades. I love it. Things are looking up.
So here is a pic or two of our latest projects at work.

yes thats right shity ol ice huts…we have tons of plans and ideas…going to re build them all this spring.
and yes we are taking bookings for ice hut rentals and packages

here is a pic of our first happy family on the lake….we were out testing some holes we didn’t catch much but i did catch a 17″ laker the next day.
So all this resort worker stuff means a gypsy break. Were getting an appartment and were going to stick around in one place for a while. A steady check is nice. With a baby on the way also means the wedding plans are on hold for now. which is ok with me. NO rv ether….my girl deserves a roof over her head with decent insulation. But i will be building a new camper this spring…for our next road trip.
cheers!!!1

the half build trailer sat there for a couple months getting wet and coverd with snow. only a tarp and now ply wood or stain or supplys….i’m broke still. nothing made sense. i didn’t have the means to finish the out side of it before it’d be to late and the wood would be half rottin. so this is what i built.

yes its just a normal sled trailer or box trailer. but now it can be used. I’m working on plans for a A frame design so it can be used as a camper aswell when need be.
cheers and happy new years. I also have another blog that i like better then word press still just cause i haven’t figured everything out here yet. http://gypsypetals.blogspot.com/

applying for work sucks. Its stressfull and even harder when your broke. Stuck at home(with family) looking for work online applying for work online and hitchin rides into town. So where’s my job? I”m starting to get a little concerned. My gf just got her wedding dress. We have out rings picked out. Were looking for a location and looking at getting married aug 21 next year. Where is my job? I’m not off to a good start….i hate not havin work. Havent’ touched the trailer in a couple weeks due to a lack of supplys and cash. My grandmas just got home after having a few nights in the hospital with minor strokes. lifes just a huge stressball right now. WHERE IS MY JOB?????? but i got my .22 and my .303 out a few days ago and made a mess of a few paint cans. Its amazing how a little recoil can make ya look at the brighter side of things.

Most people think of an RV as a hoilday home or home on wheels. Some people look at an RV as a back up home……just in case. I like the idea of having a “back up home” I really like the term “bug out trailer” in case of emergency, you have a home. And just like any home you have the comferts of life in that home. Food, a bed a place to cook and the means to survive, off grid and indapentently. No mater what life throws at us all we have to do is hitch up and away we go. All the comferts of home is in our Rv. Wether its a home made teardrop trailer, tiny travel trailer or a 70,000.00 dollar class A pusher, were ready to go. I wish this was the case. lol i haven’t been able to get anywhere on my trailer, cause life happens. Am i ready to bug out? YES! and that time is comming
